Summary:

  • Climate change is a pressing issue, and many people feel we may have reached the point of no return.
  • About 72 percent of Americans acknowledge the reality of climate change, with around 56 percent attributing it to human activity.
  • However, in the global context, people worldwide believe that human activity is the main driver of climate change.
  • The gradual increase in heat over the decades may lead to reduced perception of the significance of the change.

I've always been pretty concerned about climate change, but this definitely feels like we're at that point of no return that people have talked about for a long time. I hope people are starting to realize that there is an effect, and I think that people are starting to open their eyes that over the years it has changed, whether we want to believe it or not. It is here. Americans understand that climate change is happening, and human cause have kind of reached all-time highs or very close to our all-time highs across the 15 years that we've been doing these studies, which is good news. So it's about 72 percent of Americans understand that it's real, that it's happening, and about 56 percent understand that it's human cause. So one, those are all-time highs. That's great.

Yay, America. Good job. Except that if we were to put that in global context, people around the world overwhelmingly understand or believe that humans are the major driver of this. Hot is hot. When you're in the desert, it's hot. It's hot. It depends on where we serve. We serve on the asphalt. Yeah, it's hot. We're on a dirt lot. We're able to give some shelter and lots of water. So I haven't noticed any climate change, if that's what you're saying. No, it's hot and hot. You know, we're a little bit like the frog in the boiling water where we just say, yeah, it's getting hotter, but maybe we're not as perceptive about the increase and the significance of it as we might be if it were a sudden event. So it's really not that sudden. It's been a bit gradual. It's been heating up for many decades.
