House Filled with Investigators
Paped up and filled with investigators, the house where 12-year-old Marquis Jones was shot and killed, Marilyn Hill says she knows they did not have a gun inside. The house that he got killed at is my sister's house. She was out of town and this house is a safe house just like she spoke it. There's no firearms in this house. We've got people. Hill says she wants whoever brought in the weapon to turn themselves in.Family Mourns a Young Boy
All I want y'all to do and put out there is for him to be man enough to know that he did something wrong to just turn himself in and this there will welcome him to come to him in order the police pick him up. Meanwhile, police say a 14-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of manslaughter and Marquis Jones, who is only 12 years old. Marquis Jones was a sweet loving little boy. Still a baby. Still a baby. He's leaving behind his mother, cousins, sister's brother. It's just a messed up situation that nobody's family wants to deal with.Addressing the Issue of Gun Violence
Our people continue to leave these firearms laying around places. This continues to show the problem and issue that we have within our community, especially around our home, especially around our children, especially in these houses, especially when they're loaded at that. Our people in this ongoing gun violence and all this madness that continues to go on, we need to make sure that we step up and stand up and say something about it and do something about it and make changes within our homes and within our community. A candlelight vigil and balloon release for Marquis is scheduled for tomorrow night at six o'clock.
