Tucker Carlson Announces New Show on Twitter
Two weeks after Tucker Carlson was fired by Fox News, he announced he's taking his program to Twitter. But a tweet by Twitter boss Elon Musk seems to be saying, not so fast. Amicogliano reports. The fired Fox star announced his comeback plan last night, but Twitter boss Elon Musk doesn't seem all that excited.
We have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever, Musk tweeted. Tucker is subject to the same rules and rewards of all content creators. So, will it work? Will his old Fox audience watch on Twitter? There are lots of people that use Twitter, but they don't spend an hour sitting in front of it the way people would spend an hour sitting in front of the TV watching Tucker Carlson. There is just no equivalent to the power and reach and scale of television. And I have a feeling Tucker's gonna want to get back to that at some point. But for now, Twitter is better than nothing. Meanwhile, embattled Republican Congressman George Santos turned himself in to federal authorities today.
Santos was booked at a courthouse here on Long Island. He was fingerprinted and had his mug shot taken and then appeared before a judge on charges of wire fraud, money laundering and theft of public funds. One accusation is that he raised money to finance his campaign for office and used it to buy designer clothes. I'm proud to be the first African American quarterback. Santos has been relentlessly mocked for his pathological lying. I was the first openly gay Jewish Republican Latino to walk on the moon. Do you have a problem? And even though he was arrested today, Santos will go back to work on Capitol Hill tomorrow.
He should have resigned a long time ago. He's an embarrassment to our party. He's an embarrassment to the United States Congress.
