Prince Harry and Prince William Don't Interact at Father King Charles' Coronation | PEOPLE

Prince William and Prince Harry did not appear to cross paths at King Charles's coronation. The brothers attended the king's crowning ceremony at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, but did not sit together during the church service and seemingly did not interact at the event. William arrived with his wife, Princess Kate, each decked out in formal robes and mantles at the request of the king and queen. People understand that Harry was requested to wear a mourning suit and didn't make any specific asks about his outfit. He arrived solo in suit by Dior, adorned with his Afghanistan service medal, and golden jubilee, diamond jubilee, and platinum jubilee medals. He also included his royal Victorian order, neck decoration, and star. Unlike his family, Harry was not permitted to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony after the ceremony or participate in the procession.

He appeared to leave some time after the congregation portion of the ceremony concluded. The ongoing rift between Harry and his family was evident in late March when he was in London for court hearing and his claim against associated newspapers. He did not see his father or brother during that trip, with a palace insider saying, quote, things are strained. There was also no communication between the brothers and the lead up to the coronation, and an insider said Harry's attendance would do little to ease tensions. During an interview about his memoir, Spare, earlier this year, the Duke of Cessex told his ITV he hoped to talk through his issues with his family before the historic event. But when Harry and Megan received an email about the coronation from King Charles's office, a close friend told people it became clear that the sit down Harry saw it wouldn't happen. However, the estranged father and son ultimately connected, though not in person, and according to a source had positive conversations.
