Giant flying insect found on Walmart building turns out to be Jurassic-era find
A lot of questions about this story. This insect, long thought to be extinct, was spotted outside an Arkansas Walmart. It's a giant lay swing from the Jurassic area. It's the first site in the Baltimore in 50 years and also the first record of the insect in Arkansas. The scientists don't know why the insect disappeared, but the discovery might indicate there's a surviving population that has evaded detection and extinction. How did someone outside of Walmart know that that insect is special? It looks weird. And I think it was found like 10 years ago too, so we're just learning.
Identifying it now. We have a lot of questions. We do.
