Here are the highlights from the 65th Grammys. You know, the 2023 edition of the Grammys had a lot of people thinking about the 2017 version. Beyonce, Adele, who would win and who might make history? The short answer, Adele won Best Pop Solo Performance and a couple of chance meetings with Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Beyonce, meanwhile, won two Grammys, making her the winningest artist in the show's history. I'm trying not to be too emotional. And I'm trying to just receive this night. But both were shut out of the big three categories.

Sam Smith and Kim Petrus also took home hardware, Best Pop Duo Group Performance with Unholy. Petrus is believed to be the first trans woman to win a Grammy. As far as performances, the highlight of the night was the quest love curated tribute to hip hop. Dozens of artists, tons of big hits, and the entire arena on its feet. Ice Tea was on the fence about coming, but quest love convinced him. I said, man, I'm not coming out to West Coast. He says, you don't want to be the person that watches this performance and says, I was invited and you weren't in it.

And I got my black on the plane. There was also the in memoriam and with it, a tribute to Fleetwood Max Christine McVeigh, featuring Mick Fleetwood, Bonnie Raitt, and Cheryl Crow. Fleetwood said, of all his Grammy awards, he's not the best guy to win. Fleetwood said, of all his Grammy memories, this would be the most memorable because of the subject matter. So I'm happy to be here and being on stage with Bonnie and Cheryl, they're very vested in who Christine was. Raitt returned to the stage as she won Song of the Year, her first Grammy for songwriting. The other big awards went to jazz vocalist Samara Joy for Best New Artist.

Lizzo's about damn time for Record of the Year, and Harry Styles won two Grammys and the night's biggest award, Album of the Year, for Harry's House. Producer Kit Harpoon said the album had a more intimate feel because of the smaller team that worked on it. And it gave a real like almost like posh bedroom feel to the record, I think. That makes it way more personal to Harry, I think. For more of our Grammy coverage, including a full list of winners, head to USAToday.com forward slash entertainment.
