Flights resume after power outage at JFK

How are finally back on the JFK's terminal one? This is after a serious electrical fire that knocked out essential systems since Thursday. People coming in and out of the tri-state, they will start seeing those flight schedules resume. It's been an absolute disaster for anybody trying to use the terminal. As of this morning, there have been at least 34 delayed international flights at JFK. Only two cancellations. It's a much brighter picture than yesterday when nearly 300 flights delayed and 19 of those canceled. Pixel of is Michelle Ross live for us this morning.

With more from passengers at the terminal, it's really tough, especially when you're trying to take one of those long flights internationally, Michelle. Right, not the way you want to start or end your trip. But JFK did tweet that today terminal one will be back to normal scheduled flight operations. So for those travelers who had to deal with aggravations these last two days, those with planned flights are hoping to actually take off today. Confusion and anger for flyers out of JFK airport these last few days. Oh, they give them my money back. You've been here eight hours not knowing what's going to happen.

I was now standing waiting hoping that somebody says something. Some flights had to turn around midair back to their point of origin. But now things are finally looking up. A couple of days after an electrical panel sparked a small fire at JFK's terminal one, repairs were finally done. Over the weekend flights were rerouted to other terminals or nearby airports, but others weren't so lucky. We don't want to leave on Wednesday. Wednesday's half of the vacation's done.

Repairs took longer than what anyone had hoped for. They said our flight is cancelled and we need to rebook. We can't rebook. Rebook is costing us $2,000 one way to get to Egypt. I knew this was going on on Thursday, but if this happened Thursday, there should be people where the people to help, you know, alleviate the problem. Luckily, they have sorted out the problem and have alleviated the problem, but many travelers will be feeling that ripple effect for the next couple of days. We're live at JFK airport this morning.
