‘Ant-Man’ villain Jonathan Majors talks Kang the Conqueror role l GMA

A lot of love fest for our guest. He is he's lovable. What can we say? You know Ant-Man and the Wasquantimania it buzz into the top spot at the box office over the weekend setting records And they're the new villain at the center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe gearing up the conquer the world. Take a look And with time It's hard not to skip to the end So if you want to stop what's coming and trust me You do I am the only shot you have I'm gonna give you chills just watching that and here he is Kang the conqueror himself the Jonathan majors everybody Welcome to the show John. You know now you want you're officially one of the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe So how does it feel to finally see this character on the big screen? Wow? Wow I mean that's that's how it feels really. I mean it's a dream come true in many ways I always want to be an actor, you know what I would when I said one of the actor did the Marvel You know versus not a thing, you know, and now it is and it's a really big thing and so it's a dream come true Wow That's a perfect word for it critics are raving critics are absolutely raving about you your role everything How did you tap into your bad self? Oh? You could ask my mama that Yeah, I don't I don't think I have to tap into it. I just have to let it let it happen, you know Because it's what I like about Kang is that it's it's quite a It's quite up in the air.

He's gray, you know, is he bad is he good? You know, he's definitely a villain, you know based off the MCU, but if you keep it real things become a bit ambiguous And I like that about him. That's got to be fun to play too. It gives you gives you some room I'm a little mischief. Yeah, that's the wrong little mischief So you make a lot of mischief in two films and Ant-Man you have a big fight scene Yes, Paul Rod and then you have and then in Creed 3 you also do which which was tougher Which was more gratifying? I was probably more gratifying with Michael B Jordan the director of Creed 3 Because it's very rare you get to throw punch at your director With no consequence and Paul probably most Yeah, because it's just the world that we were in, you know, it's this MCU, you know So how the ground that so it's quite satisfying to know that we pulled that off You should be satisfied those fight scenes made Michael. Yeah The movie I first of all I think Paul Rudd probably hits harder than Michael B. Jordan Oh Dad punches is stronger than the average punch. Yeah, but I tell you I watched I watched Creed 3 and immediately I called the trainer like yeah, I gotta get back in the gym.

Yeah, but you you worked out three times a day Yeah, yeah, three times a day a lot of food a lot is connected to the character, you know and just I Mean I played football not like you, you know, like nobody did like you But you know as an athlete, you know, and I was coming down the hill. I hadn't done a Creed film I was not a boxer beforehand, you know, and so I just felt you know, it's time to go get it And so if they're doing to I'm doing three they're doing what I'm doing to you know, whatever it takes in it And it did yet. It really really shows and Mike and I had a chance to see it You haven't been able to see it yet. Wow your character and everything and you and you alluded to Michael B Yes, being the director. It's the first time that he's directing now. We know how he is on camera. Yeah, how is he behind the scenes? Oh man, he's Mike's probably the Pregnant sweetest cats I've met, you know in the game as it were, you know, he's just a sincere He's just a sweet, you know, we see as a director very focused I mean sincere and sweet as a director, you know and very focused, you know It's a boxing film.

So the best illusion I can make is you know, he's a cut man You know, he's taking care of me, you know, he's always saying throw that punch, you know, take it there, you know Downshift here, you know things that help us, you know, tell the story, you know a great collaborator And quite a his agility is incredible to go from actor to director to actor to director to producer It's just you can do it all. Yeah, very virtuosic Yeah, that's pretty cool. You know, the internet has noticed something and I noticed it this morning when I met you earlier You you carry around this ceramic cup and you said, yeah, that's one of my things Yeah What can you tell us about it? Okay, it's a lot of stories about the cup The last story this story right now is it's for tea, you know, but it's it's kind of a metaphor, you know Don't let nobody else fill up your cup, you know, don't let nobody gas you up You know, you do it yourself, you know Who taught you that? Who taught you that? Probably my mama not probably definitely my mama, you know Your cup run over all those things, you know, it's a vessel is a beautiful idea But to carry one and to claim that you are one, you know, it kind of keeps you in check That's just one origin story I just see that man. I can just sit here and talk to Jonathan all day. I know. Well, you better not we got a whole show But I just want to say you're fantastic.
